Not much longer...  Contributor's Pick!       
Just down the hill from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, was the "College" station of the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad. The sole remaining P&LE passenger train, which ran until July 1985, started here every weekday morning for one trip to Pittsburgh and then came back in the evening. Not long after I made this picture, the train made its last run. Here the train is put away for the weekend, its tail end hiding under the bridge to Eastvale (date approx).

Tom Beckett General I never got to see this in action-lived in NY, too far to get to Pitt with the time I had available-or for that matter, the P&LE. It was such a prosperous road in those days. Hard to believe it just dried up and vanished. 8/31/2016 3:03:18 AM
